The talk "Fast cell classification through machine learning and photonics" by Alessio Lugnan will be held on Tuesday 28th of May, 2019 at 4.30 p.m. in the room "Aula seminari di Fisica" (Povo 0).

Abstract:

How can photonics speed up the classification of interference patterns generated by cells or microparticles? A technique based on simple, cheap and linear optical components such as diffraction gratings is proposed.  Simulation and experimental work will be presented, focusing on the challenges of hardware-based machine learning.
